    Amazon (Seattle, WA)

    Apply Now

    Description

We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager - Tech to incubate and lead new strategic initiatives that support employee relations, flexible labor scheduling and manager experience. We enable Amazon to be the employer of choice for hourly workers by offering them the fastest path to a consistent and flexible hourly job with opportunities to earn more and grow their skill sets, resulting in more value for customers as we better absorb variability and lower costs. We build products and programs that enable flexible job management for associates and support our leaders in managing at scale. The candidate will leverage their technical product management expertise to work backwards from customer scenarios, identify the right product opportunities, define and execute the product roadmap with cross-organizational engineering, science and UX teams for enterprise-wide global customers. They will demonstrate a high level of ownership and use communication and organizational skills to maintain alignment with stakeholders and customer representatives at all levels of leadership. They will use data and concise narratives to articulate their vision for products that excite and thrill customers. If you love using customer obsession to tackle ambiguous problems and build world class experiences for Amazon, this position is for you.

    Key job responsibilities

    - Identifying which customer problems are the most impactful to solve for.

    - Defining the vision for your product.

    - Generating buy-in for the product vision with leadership and partner teams.

    - Creating and maintaining an optimized and logically sequenced roadmap.

    - Translating customer experiences into clearly defined product requirements.

    - Managing prioritization and trade-offs to ensure delivery of a great customer experience.

    - Anticipating and resolving strategic issues that impair the team’s ability to deliver.

    - Leading cross-functionally to ensure the product vision is implemented effectively.

    - Interacting with stakeholders at multiple levels and in multiple locations, and working with business, other product teams, program management, and Operations teams to solve complex business challenges

    - Anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing business needs versus technical and/or operational constraints

    - Collaborating with global stakeholders in other regions to champion a worldwide strategy that eliminates product waste

    A day in the life

As the Senior Product Manager - Tech, you will own the vision and strategy for every aspect of the product, from strategy to feature-level definition and then roll out to thousands of users who rely on your tools. Day to day you may find yourself doing desk rides with customers to understand their challenges, and then get huddled up in a room to do whiteboarding of solutions with your tech partners to solve for them. You'll have a seat at the table for strategic prioritization discussions, and you'll make the tradeoffs that help us learn quickly, deliver value, and continue to iterate on products that have high visibility across Amazon. In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional organization of research and applied scientists, data engineers, program managers, product managers, UX designers, software developers, and recruiting teams.
