Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal to support attorneys specializing in intellectual property litigation. This contract position is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and offers the opportunity to work on cases involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Candidates will play a key role in managing case documentation, preparing legal filings, and maintaining critical schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys handling intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes.

• Organize and manage case files, exhibits, deposition transcripts, and related documentation to ensure efficient retrieval and usage.

• Draft and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials, adhering to federal and state court requirements.

• Perform electronic filing of legal documents across various court systems while ensuring compliance with deadlines and formatting standards.

• Conduct basic research using patent, trademark, and copyright databases to assist attorneys in case preparation.

• Maintain and update attorneys’ calendars to ensure awareness of court dates and filing deadlines.

• Provide additional administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth progression of cases.

Requirements • Proficiency in electronic filing systems and court filing procedures.

• Experience working on civil litigation cases, particularly those involving intellectual property.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and maintain extensive case documentation.

• Familiarity with calendar management tools to track deadlines effectively.

• Knowledge of intellectual property litigation processes, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

• Ability to prepare legal documents with precision and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and research skills to support case preparation.
