Billing Manager

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will support the billing processes for multiple construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial transactions. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and other team members.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process monthly progress billings using Excel, ensuring compliance with project contracts.
• Collaborate closely with project managers to gather Statements of Billing (SOBs) and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
• Review contracts to identify key billing dates, terms, and requirements.
• Manage and process construction-related documents, including change orders, waivers, and project setups.
• Utilize Sage 300 for data entry, posting, and generating monthly financial reports.
• Conduct monthly aging reports and follow up on outstanding payments over 30 days.
• Participate in monthly meetings with project managers and stakeholders to provide updates on accounts receivable and collections.
• Maintain and update training manuals with detailed processes and screenshots for billing systems.
• Handle end-of-month tasks, such as rolling forward SOBs and finalizing financial entries.
• Ensure all billing deadlines are met by proactively managing schedules and coordinating with relevant parties. Requirements • Proven experience in billing, with a strong preference for progress billing in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with construction contracts and the ability to review and interpret key terms.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with Sage 300 or similar accounting software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially when working with project managers.
• Knowledge of construction accounting practices and related documentation processes.
• Ability to manage billing cycles and meet strict deadlines.
• Experience in accounts receivable and collections is an advantage.
