Description
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role involves managing payroll operations for a workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless weekly processing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Validate and reconcile payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, benefits, and earnings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and labor laws.
• Generate and submit payroll reports, including tax filings and employee summaries.
• Supervise and support payroll staff, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll discrepancies, deductions, and benefits.
• Conduct audits to verify payroll accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and operations teams to streamline payroll processes.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and Viewpoint software enhancements to improve workflows.
• Communicate payroll policies and updates effectively to employees and stakeholders.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proficiency in processing payroll for large teams, particularly on a weekly basis.
• Advanced knowledge of Viewpoint software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.
• Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Crystal Reports is desirable.
