Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer directs the supplier quality operations with an assigned set of suppliers in accordance with the company's strategic objectives. Increases interdepartmental cooperation in quality and outside quality and focuses the attitude on quality. Ensures products and processes are in compliance with regulations, specifications, contract requirements and quality system standards.
Essential Functions
+ Provide proactive Supplier Quality leadership for assigned suppliers, for production, work transfers, and new development programs.
+ Lead implementation of the Parker Zero Defect Process. Including coaching suppliers on the development of AS9145 compliant PPAP artifacts.
+ Review and approve supplier generated Process Flow diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Capability Studies and Measurement Systems Analyses (MSA’s).
+ Work with suppliers as needed to mature PPAP capabilities and quality of PPAP submittals.
+ Monitor supplier quality and drive improvement initiatives on incoming materials and components for critical or high-risk suppliers.
+ Support the management of Material Review Board (MRB) activities to disposition nonconforming hardware.
+ Lead in problem solving for root cause and corrective action to improve manufacturing processes through the application of 8D problem solving.
+ Conduct supplier quality and process audits to drive continuous improvement with suppliers.
+ Participate in product development activities to review engineering releases and changes, manufacturing methods, planning, and process specifications as it relates to product quality.
+ Analyze supplier performance and lead efforts to eliminate defects on a systemic scale.
+ Evaluate supplier first article inspection per the AS9102 and perform source inspection surveillance activities at suppliers.
Job Requirements
+ Bachelor degree (required) in Engineering or other related technical field.
+ ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, certification preferred.
+ Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering experience within theAerospace or Automotive industryin a design, manufacture, assembly and test environment.
+ Minimum of 6 years related experience.
+ Must have experience in APQP document creation and approval. In depth knowledge PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans and other advanced quality tools.
+ Background in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to interpret manufacturing drawings and tolerance requirements.
+ Experience with investment castings, forgings, machining (traditional and special processes), and NDT methods (FPI, MPI, radiographic, etc.).
+ Problem solving techniques including 8D, six sigma, or equivalent.
+ Knowledge of Aerospace industry specifications AS9100 and ISO9001 or related requirements.
+ Working knowledge in computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Power BI Experience using Net-Inspect (FAIR, APQP/PPAP, etc.), Minitab and SAP are preferred.
+ Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Strong facilitation and project management skills preferred.
+ This position will be required to work on the production floor at the supplier, in an office, and remote work environment.
