We currently have ONE full-time career opportunity available to join the HKS Team as a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for reporting and working closely with the Director of Accounting and the CFO to ensure compliance with GAAP and will be responsible for performing a variety of activities associated with the Accounting Department.

This is an in-person position based out of Sands Point, NY.

Pay Rate: $80-$85k annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the development and execution of function/program within his/her span of control in accordance with HKS’ Mission and Strategic Objectives. Specifically responsible for

+ Responsible for all internal and external reporting, DOE, CFR, and Grants

+ Ensure compliance and timely billing of all with state, federal, contract/grants

+ Manage all private grants and contracts

+ HKS monthly Financial reporting

+ Produce regular internal reports on contract status

+ HKS 403B plan Administrator

+ Responsible for State compliance

+ NXT Software management

+ Support with HKS annual Audit, provide documentation/support for the external auditors

+ Support with HKS annual budgets

+ Produce financial analysis for Grants and contracts (Budget vs Actual Analysis).

+ Prepare accounting related entries

+ Assist with information requests for budgets, historical information, and other business and financial needs

+ Assist the Director of Accounting and CFO with special projects and reporting.

+ Monthly update of investment accounts and necessary journal/adjusting entries

+ Ad hoc reporting as assigned

Responsible for other duties as may be assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor and/or the Director of the Department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct reports include: Staff Accountant

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

+ Minimum of five years of related work (general accounting, payroll/ADP applications, accounts payable

+ Functions; Intermediate Experience in Excel a must; Must possess attention to detail and deadlines.
