• Costume Technician

    Six Flags (Doswell, VA)


    Overview:

    $14.75 an hour

     

    Join the Live Entertainment team and help us present some of this year’s shows, events, and attractions. Use your previous costume and sewing experience and continue to build your skills as a **Costume Technician** !

    Responsibilities:

    + Work closely with Costume Area Supervisor to ensure the quality of all themed entertainment and stage productions.

    + Assist in all costume related aspects of attractions and productions including design, construction, and maintenance.

    + Prepare costumes for shows (stage shows, street performers, musicians, characters, etc) and maintain costume appearance and continuity.

    + Fit and alter costumes as needed, utilizing sewing machine as needed and demonstrating basic sewing ability (seams, hems, buttons, etc.).

    + Clean performer’s costumes after the show, prepare laundry, and use washer and dryer as directed.

    + Follow directives and procedures of the costume shop.

    + Function as liaison with the creative team during rehearsals

    Qualifications:

    + You!

    + Ability to demonstrate costume construction from pattern to completion of garment.

    + Ability to demonstrate strong sewing ability (by both hand and machine).

    + Resume with listed experience and education in relation to working as a costumer.

    + Experience in theatre or in the themed entertainment industry preferred.

    + Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

    + People who love helping others and will support the needs of our guests and associates.

    + Good judgement and a commitment to safety.

    + Ability to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.

    + Individuals with a passion and excitement about Kings Dominion.

    + Availability to include some weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
