Payroll Specialist (4-Month Contract) – Manufacturing Industry
Contract Duration: 4 Months

Reports To: Payroll Manager or HR Director
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations during a 4-month contract period. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our manufacturing workforce. The ideal candidate will bring strong payroll knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Accurately process and validate payroll data for hourly and salaried employees.
+ Conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
+ Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping via phone and email.
+ Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
+ Assist with payroll tax filings and compliance at federal, state, and local levels.
+ Support special payroll runs, including bonuses, off-cycle payments, and expatriate payrolls.
+ Generate and distribute payroll reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
+ Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support payroll-related initiatives and process improvements.
+ Participate in onboarding and training related to payroll systems and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general spreadsheet management.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive data.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
+ Comfortable handling routine inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with ADP or similar payroll/timekeeping systems.
+ Basic understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.
+ Exposure to accounting functions or general ledger reconciliation.
+ Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and audit processes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
