    What Success Looks Like In This Job

     

    The Social Media Intern will work hand-in-hand with our Social Media Specialist, playing a key role in boosting Adams County's online presence. This is a fun opportunity to learn about social media management and trends, connect with the community, and create engaging content. If you're a team player with an interest in social media and communication as a career, this internship is for you!

     

    Hybrid:Job duties and expectations allow for onsite and remote work scheduled every week. Employees in this classification are regularly scheduled onsite one (1) to four (4) days per week based on the County needs and as determined by Department Director. Hybrid classified roles can be onsite more than the set minimum based on employee preference.

     

    The anticipated hiring range for this role is $45,279.00 - $52,070.85. The full salary range for the role is$45,279.00- $65,654.55.

     

    Examples of Duties for Success

     

    + Assist the Social Media Specialist with the development and implementation of the county’s social media strategy.

    + Assist with creation of social media content for multiple accounts on multiple social media platforms.

    + Accounts include: Adams County Government, Riverdale Animal Shelter, Adams County Fair, Adams County Parks, and Colorado Air and Space Port

    + Monitor comments and inboxes to ensure responses are sent in a professional and timely manner.

    + Create content calendar and review with Social Media Specialist before scheduling out on the platforms.

    + Use social media management/marketing tool to schedule posts.

    + Monitor and engage with posts from partner organizations and municipalities to create a strong network.

    + Increase followers and follow other important or relevant accounts

    + Reshare stories or news on account when appropriate

    + Research social media trends and find ways to incorporate them with our current channels/departments.

    + Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required

     

    Qualifications for Success

     

    + Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, and social media best practices.

    + Creative writer with the ability to tailor messages for a variety of audiences.

    + Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Basic understanding of social media KPIs.

    + Ability to analyze and monitor social media communication efforts.

    + Knowledge of taking photographs/video footage for social media.

    + Able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand, fun environment.

    + Excellent multitasking skills, critical thinker, and problem-solver.

    + Able to work independently but as part of a larger team.

    + Excellent time-management skills.

    + Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, familiar with desktop publishing software.

    + Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contracted in the course of work.

    + Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute.

     

    More Qualifications for Success

    Experience:

    + None required. Familiarity with social media platforms and an interest in pursuing a career in communications is preferred.

    Education and Training:

    + Candidates may possess or be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or closely related field.

     

    License or Certificate:None.

     

    Background Check:Must pass a criminal background check.

    Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:

    + Duration - 3 months or less

    + Weekly Hours - Any

    + Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks

    + Lactation friendly certified workplace

    OR

    + Duration - Up to 12 months

    + Weekly Hours - 29 or less hours

    + Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks

    Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the the medical plan for the employee and child(ren) only as well as the 457b deferred compensation plan:

    + Duration - At least 3 months and up to 12 months

    + Weekly Hours - 30 or more

    + Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks

    + Lactation friendly certified workplace
