Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
+ **System Design & Engineering:**
+ Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of complex Lenel OnGuard and Milestone XProtect solutions within the GSOC, including upgrades, expansions, and integrations with other security technologies.
+ Develop detailed engineering documentation, including system architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Conduct comprehensive requirements analysis and translate operational needs into technical specifications for Lenel and Milestone systems.
+ **System Administration & Maintenance:**
+ Perform advanced configuration, administration, and ongoing maintenance of Lenel OnGuard and Milestone XProtect servers, clients, and associated hardware (e.g., controllers, cameras, readers).
+ Proactively monitor system health, performance, and security, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact operations.
+ Manage user accounts, access levels, and video retention policies within both platforms.
+ Execute routine system backups, updates, and patches in accordance with security policies and vendor recommendations.
+ **Troubleshooting & Incident Response:**
+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Lenel and Milestone issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex system malfunctions, connectivity issues, and performance degradations.
+ Respond to and resolve critical system alarms and events in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
+ Collaborate with IT, network, and cybersecurity teams to diagnose and resolve integrated system issues.
+ **Optimization & Enhancement:**
+ Identify opportunities for system optimization, efficiency improvements, and enhanced security features within Lenel and Milestone.
+ Implement and test new functionalities, integrations, and third-party applications to meet evolving GSOC requirements.
+ Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
+ **Collaboration & Leadership:**
+ Work closely with GSOC operators, security management, and other engineering teams to understand operational workflows and provide technical support.
+ Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and sharing expertise in Lenel and Milestone systems.
+ Participate in project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management for security system deployments and upgrades.
+ Develop and deliver training to GSOC personnel on the effective use of Lenel and Milestone systems.
+ **Documentation & Reporting:**
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all Lenel and Milestone system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
+ Generate reports on system performance, availability, and incident trends.
Qualifications
**Clearance/Citizen Type:** Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience in physical security systems, specifically with Lenel OnGuard and Milestone XProtect.
+ OR Master's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
+ In-depth hands-on experience with the design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Lenel OnGuard (ideally with LCE certification) and Milestone XProtect (ideally with Certified Engineer certification).
+ Proven experience working in or supporting a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) or similar 24/7 critical security environment.
+ Strong understanding of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls) as it pertains to physical security systems.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues within complex integrated security systems.
+ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Lenel Certified Expert (LCE) certification.
+ Milestone XProtect Certified Engineer (MCE) certification.
+ Experience with other physical security systems (e.g., access control, intrusion detection, intercoms, PSIM).
+ Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for physical security and cybersecurity.
+ Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and system management.
+ Prior experience in a client-facing role or acting as a technical lead on projects.
Desired Skills:
+ Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
+ Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
+ Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
+ Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
