Job Description:
Experience in Market and Credit Risk
+ Demonstrable experience in the design of large-scale risk engines, both batch and intraday, serving multiple regions
+ An understanding of valuation and risk measures. An understanding of data dimensionality for different risk measures
+ Experience in building reporting solutions for stakeholders (FO, Market Risk Management…)
+ An understanding of trade lifecycle and trade modelling for risk analytics
+ An understanding of market data lifecycle (curve rolls, bootstrapping) and modelling for risk analytics
+ A high-level understanding of risk analytics and how they operate internally.
+ Design and architect robust solutions – proof of completing complex architectures
+ Strong communications / presentation skills. Strong collaboration skills and able to demonstrate a pragmatic approach.
+ Collaborate with project managers and solution architects to accurately deliver architecture projects on time and within budget.
+ Assess and develop current architecture and readiness for implementation, introducing new solutions and modernization strategies for the platforms.
+ Develop detailed-level design requirements for architecture implementations, optimizing platform and integration strategies for cost-effective delivery of scalable and reliable distributed systems.
+ Create delivery guides, assessments, and common architecture patterns for cloud architecture projects.
+ Collaborate with cloud engineers and developers to deliver end-to-end solutions for clients.
+ Implement best practices for backup and recovery techniques for applications in GCP, Azure private cloud focusing on continuous deployment, cloud security, governance, configuration management, and continuous integration.
+ Design systems integrations, ingestion patterns, target and transition architectures, and roadmaps.
+ Resolve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) for the data platform and data products.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and efficient solutions.
+ Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to streamline data pipeline implementation and maintenance.
+ Provide expertise in API integration and data governance for smooth data flows across systems.
+ Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in engineering and analytics.
+ Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth
Depth & Scope:
+ Seasoned individual contributor role with expert knowledge of specific enterprise and/or functional domain(s) and a demonstrated track record working with a broad range of architecture frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures
+ Exceptional collaboration, communication and client-facing skills
+ Big-picture thinker, with ability to anticipate architectural gaps and identify emerging trends through both advanced business acumen and highly specialized technical knowledge of TD and its applications, programming languages, industry best practices, Bank standards, infrastructure and architectural design / solutions
+ Architect assigned to work autonomously on high profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization
Education & Experience:
+ Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)
+ 10+ years relevant experience developing a variety of platforms
+ Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Pair programming and / or Test-Driven Development is an asset (i.e., ability to author Unit, Integration and Functional Tests)
+ Demonstrated experience with leading technical tools integration in a complex environment
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Certification in TOGAF 9 or 10;
+ Financial experience and capital markets experience.
+ Proficiency and Certification in GCP and GKE or Azure.
+ Solid understanding of data and analytics principles and methodologies.
+ Experience implementing foundational cloud services (networking, security, account/organizations, logging & monitoring, identity access management, etc.).
+ Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
+ Experience in software development using languages such as Java, Python, C++, Go, or Ruby.
+ Experience in large-scale migration of application workloads from on-prem or collocated data centers to a cloud platform.
+ Experience working with GCP, AWS, Azure, and private cloud compute, storage, micro-service applications, platform serverless frameworks, API gateway, CI/CD, and cloud-based services.
+ Experience implementing cloud controls, security, monitoring technologies, as well as hands-on experience instrumenting alerts based on aggregated logs and analytics output and audit services.
+ Experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation.
+ Experience managing container orchestrated workloads such as Kubernetes/Docker.
+ Experience developing DevOps, Site Reliability, and Solutions Architecture methodologies and practices.
Customer Accountabilities:
+ Key lead in design and/or development of an architecture framework including technology domain architecture strategy, policies, ‘guiding principles’ and standards to govern how technology solutions will be developed and implemented
+ Researches/analyzes business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture
+ Leads project detailed solution architecture and design ensuring it meets requirements / complies with the architectural and security standards, patterns and frameworks and provide sign-off on the detailed design
+ Leads the development of project plans by providing input and manage projects / initiatives by directing assigned resources, communicating project status and providing timely escalation of issues
+ Provides expert consultation and participate as a subject matter expert on projects of high risk and complexity
+ Conducts pre and post implementation reviews, ensuring all technical solutions have met business requirements
+ Steers the process of development, documentation, communication and execution of a comprehensive strategy, policies and solutions
Shareholder Accountabilities:
+ Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for area
+ Ensures projects are compliant with technology domain architecture and design/operate processes to provide ongoing review of in progress activity against technology architecture and development standards
+ Protects/enhances the security, availability of technology, brand integrity and shareholder value by establishing parameters for continued investment in technology solutions, and providing technical risk analysis / assessment
+ Identifies enhancements and gaps in architectural frameworks, standards and patterns to raise issues for inclusion in future versions
+ Complies with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines - including creation of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost
+ Contributes to and/or develops the process by which decisions will be made regarding technology standards
+ Ensures respective programs/ policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
+ Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the testing process
+ Protects the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
