    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with over 8 years of experience to support a national practice with a focus on the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia market area. As the Regional Team Leader, you will be responsible for growing the geotechnical business, administering quality assurance practices, managing technically complex projects, and reviewing design documents and calculations. You should have a comprehensive understanding of geotechnical theory related to foundations, slope stability, and ground improvement measures, particularly for major infrastructure, transportation, commercial, state, federal, and industrial projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across various client offices. Your success in business development, leadership skills, and commitment to client service and technical excellence are crucial for this role.

    Responsibilities

    + Grow and develop the geotechnical business in designated regions.

    + Administer quality assurance practices for projects.

    + Manage and oversee technically complex geotechnical projects.

    + Review and approve design documents and calculations.

    + Participate in multidisciplinary project teams across multiple client offices.

    + Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers.

    + Balance project risks with business needs and client expectations.

    Essential Skills

    + 8+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.

    + BS Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Masters preferred).

    + Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain reciprocity.

    + Professional Engineering license in Maryland or another US state.

    + Experience with geotechnical transportation-related design and local DOT design codes.

    + Proficiency with gINT software and standard geotechnical engineering analysis software such as LPILE, APILE, SHAFT, OpenGround, Plaxis, GeoStudio, and FoSSA.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Prior experience providing geotechnical engineering services for agencies such as DDOT, VDOT, MDOT, PennDOT, WMATA, CSX, Amtrak, Norfolk Southern, or similar.

    + Experience managing or supervising junior engineers.

    + Demonstrated success in business development.

    + Leadership development and communication skills.

    + Program management experience.

    Work Environment

    This role requires physical presence to support and manage the growth of the team. The position involves leading and providing guidance to entry-level and mid-level Geotechnical Engineers.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $77.00 - $96.15/hr.
