This position involves a combination of in-office and remote duties, including rooming patients, updating medical records, handling voicemails from the call center, and scribing for surgeons. The role also entails preparing exam rooms between patient visits, taking patient vitals, assisting with minor procedures such as suture or staple removal, and supporting a patient flow of 15–20 patients per doctor daily. Remote tasks include managing staff messages, processing prescription refills, and chart scrubbing.

Responsibilities

+ Room patients and update their medical records.

+ Handle voicemails from the call center and scribe for surgeons.

+ Prepare exam rooms between patient visits.

+ Take patient vitals and assist with minor procedures such as suture or staple removal.

+ Support a patient flow of 15–20 patients per doctor daily.

+ Manage staff messages, process prescription refills, and perform chart scrubbing remotely.

Essential Skills

+ Medical assisting and patient care expertise.

+ Proficiency in Epic and electronic health records.

+ Understanding of medical terminology.

+ Prior experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in any specialty.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Any healthcare experience is accepted.

+ Phlebotomy skills.

+ Appointment scheduling capabilities.

Work Environment

The work environment offers the unique opportunity to work closely with neurosurgeons and practice operations in a hybrid setting with remote prep days. The team-oriented atmosphere includes 8 CMAs on staff with a goal to expand to 11, ensuring you are always partnered and never work alone. Based in Morristown, a high-volume site with multiple CMAs, the shift is from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexible work-from-home options available. The physician will see 20-30 patients on a full day, many of whom are returning patients, leading to quick turnaround times in rooming.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
