This role involves designing and optimizing satellite trajectories, maneuvers, and constellations, as well as developing simulation models and analysis software.

    Responsibilities

+ Design and optimize satellite trajectories and maneuvers using STK (Astrogator, Optimizer, Analysis Workbench) and custom tools.

+ Develop and validate high-fidelity simulation models and analysis software in Python, MATLAB, or C#.

+ Conduct specialized analyses including coverage, link budgets, conjunction assessments, re-entry predictions, and attitude-orbit interactions.

+ Define trajectory and orbital performance requirements and support system architecture trade studies.

+ Automate simulation workflows and develop innovative analysis techniques.

+ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

+ Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

+ Collaborate with GNC, Systems, Software, and Operations teams to ensure mission success.

+ Deep understanding of orbital mechanics, perturbation theory, orbit determination, and trajectory optimization techniques.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead technical analyses, perform complex trade studies, and solve advanced astrodynamics challenges independently.

+ Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.

+ Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience in orbit dynamics, astrodynamics, trajectory optimization, and mission analysis.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field with a focus on astrodynamics or orbital mechanics.

+ Experience with other simulation environments (GMAT, FreeFlyer, Orekit) or specialized tools (SPICE).

    + Experience with C/C++ programming.

+ Experience in spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) analysis or design.

+ Experience with multi-body dynamics and large constellations.

+ Experience with satellite operations, particularly flight dynamics aspects.

+ Experience with software development best practices (version control with Git, testing, documentation, CI/CD).
