Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines, including mills and lathes. The role involves working primarily with Mori Siekis and Doosans in a cell environment, utilizing precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to ensure parts meet specifications. Daily blueprint usage is required, with 1-3 setups per day, necessitating expertise in tooling and fixture selection, alongside proficiency in G and M code.

Responsibilities

+ Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work preparation.

+ Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and specialized or advanced variation tools for precision machining operations.

+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

+ Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments such as micrometers, height stands, and calipers.

+ Machine parts to specifications using machine tools like lathes and milling machines.

+ Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.

+ Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

+ Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed for product fabrication.

+ Observe and listen to operating machines to diagnose malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.

+ Check work pieces to ensure they are properly lubricated and cooled.

+ Position and fasten work pieces for machining.

+ Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.

+ Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.

+ Advise clients about materials used for finished products.

+ Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.

+ Collaborate with Engineering and cutting tool suppliers to improve tool life.

+ Design and create basic fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of Machining and CNC setup experience.

+ Basic blueprint reading skills.

+ Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.

+ Daily operation of one or more CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

+ Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds.

+ Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in GD&T and troubleshooting.

+ Proficiency in Solidworks, CAD/CAM software.

+ Knowledge of CNC mills and lathes.

+ Experience with machine setup and changeovers.

The work area is organized in cells, allowing work on multiple machines at a time within a large company setting, though confined to one building. Dress code consists of jeans and a work shirt.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $51500.00 - $61672.00/yr.
