Description
PCSI is looking for a Team Lead on our environmental services team at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth! The Team Lead works closely with their peers and supervisor to ensure the work completed meets the contract requirements. This position is responsible for completing assigned routes, reporting performance concerns and/or equipment deficiencies to leadership, assisting with follow-up on QCs, and supporting their peers to ensure their work on the contract meets standards.
PCSI is looking for a Housekeeping Lead at NMCP. This position will report to the Housekeeping Supervisor and is based in Portsmouth, VA. Typical work hours are 6:30 am-3:30 pm (1st shift) Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.

What You'll Do as a Lead:
Sets the pace for other workers by directing and inspecting the work performed by employees to ensure it meets standards.
• Assists in performance of shift work duties to meet customer requirements, even when outside typical responsibilities.
• Maintains a high level of productivity while working safely and dependably.
• Works effectively with other team members and continues to improve and develop skills and knowledge.
• Perform and direct work assignments for various housekeeping or floor care duties. Conduct inspections to check completion of work assignments and to ensure compliance to contract specifications.
• Ensure employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments.
• Monitor team activities in order to establish individual performance trends.
• Identify training and development needs of team members and train new and existing employees on proper cleaning techniques as assigned.
• Report customer complaints, and cleaning and equipment deficiencies to shift supervisor.
• Adhere to the company rules, technical procedures, and safety policies which may be communicated either verbally or in writing.
• Provide leadership to team members and present a professional image to customer and co-workers. Foster exceptional customer service skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
High school diploma or GED
• One or two years of public sector (school, hospital, etc.) related experience preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (C.H.E.S.T.) preferred.
• Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilities preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to direct the work of others.
• Ability to read and understand service requests, container labels, product information, and directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials.
• Ability to effectively read, write and speak English.
• Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.
• Working knowledge of safety practices as related to work.
• Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to interact harmoniously with co-workers, hospital staff, and visitors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK).
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, use hands to handle and move about the facilities; may lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to adhere to contract requirements, company mission, core values, policies and ethical practices.
