Summary of Position
Provide a safe, nurturing environment, planning, organizing and carrying out a developmental appropriate program for children 6 months through 5 years of age and serving as an appropriate model for lab students.
Minimum Required Education
Associate Degree in Child Development or closely related area from a nationally or regionally accredited university is required with a commitment to continuous enrollment in a Bachelor’s program. Bachelor Degree in Child Development or closely related area preferred
(transcripts must be uploaded for evaluation purposes)
Minimum Required Experience
Two years wage earning experience as a teacher of young children (0-5 years) in a licensed child care center required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care and the NAEYC Standards of Accreditation.
• Supervises trains and utilizes the services of lab students.
• Maintains requirements for a safe and healthy environment for the children.
• High Standards upheld for a lab school reflected by professionalism, participate in professional association, pursue professional development and educational experiences to help connect theory to practice, maintains appropriate level of education.
• Provide a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum to encompass all developmental domains and to include a variety of learning areas; music, art, literacy, math, science and social studies with program materials appropriate to interest, abilities and developmental needs of the children.
• Knows appropriate guidance techniques that support the overall program goals and objectives of CTC Child Development.
• Record child’s progress of growth and development, prepare progress of growth and development, prepare progress reports on each child and discuss report with parents.
Salary 1M/Per Salaried Pay Scale +3k for AA; 8K for BA
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - M-Th 7:30-5:30, F 7:30-11:30

Other Information
Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification. Must meet Texas DFPS standards to include background checks and fingerprinting. Be aware of and abide by Texas Minimum Standards and NAEYC Standards. Comply with center Policies and Procedures for staff.
