Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a warehouse worker in a fast-paced distribution center environment. You will be responsible for loading and unloading semi-trucks filled with boxes and pallets of corn using sit-down hilos. Your duties will include moving corn pallets throughout the distribution center, which is maintained at a chilly 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

Responsibilities

+ Load and unload semi-trucks using sit-down hilos.

+ Transport corn pallets throughout the distribution center.

+ Participate in daily 20-minute shift meetings to discuss scheduled pickups and deliveries.

+ Enter the freezer area up to 80 times a day for 3-5 minute intervals.

+ Operate hilos safely and maneuver in tight spaces with zero accidents.

+ Adhere to safety measures, including wearing seat belts, hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective PPE.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 1 year sit-down hilo experience.

+ At least 1 year of scan gun knowledge within a distribution center.

+ Zero safety infraction record from previous jobs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with forklift operation, inventory management, and material handling.

Work Environment

The work environment is a bustling and fast-paced distribution center. During the busy season from October to April, the team size ranges from 15-25 sit-down hilo drivers per shift. The facility is clean, though temperatures are cold in the winter and warm in the summer. Expect a constant buzz of activity, with the soft smell of corn in the air and stacks of corn reaching 40 feet high. Steel toe boots and jeans are required attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Constantine, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
