NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION:
Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility.
Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Public Information Director 1to lead and manage the agency’s public communication efforts. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing strategic communication plans that promote NEDHSA’s mission, services, and initiatives across the 12-parish region.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design; OR
An advanced degree in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, or English plus three years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Manages and directs the authority's communication and external affairs efforts. Helps the authority's executive director write thought pieces in local media outlets, professional journals, and associations.
+ The director is responsible for all communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media relations, agency website, social media, and special events for authority activities, events, conferences, and programs.
+ Advises the authority's executive director and coordinates communications responses concerning sensitive and volatile issues, including authority policy directives, budget status, environmental matters, agency program investigations, abuse and neglect charges, federal and state inquiries, and many other high-profile issues.
+ Conducts research and develops objectives for proactive, positive public relations interactions across the state for all agency programs.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty
Compensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National He alth Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.
+ 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
(Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
