Job Description
The Space Superiority Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis program objective is to provide innovative technological solutions to ensure our Nation's space mission capabilities. We are looking for an intern to support the Software Engineering team through open-source research, policy review, and journal writing. This effort is geared towards supporting force structure planning, Joint Combatant Command analysis mirrored with AI/ML ethics and emerging technology capabilities. The candidate will be required to undergo a DoD security investigation. Additionally, travel to Kirtland AFB is expected.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Internships are available to help students gain real-world experience in the work force. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership. Support the Engineering team with engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical. Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with up to 20% of the required credits completed. Understanding of key domains such as software programming, legal and policy analysis, technology ethics and governance. Must have strong communication and technical domain writing skills.
Preferred Requirements
Ideal candidate will have an understanding of Python, Java, JavaScript, Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning concepts. Additionally, the candidate should have digital literacy and critical thinking skills towards policy and technology governance.
Physical Requirements
Job performance requires intern to work with teammates throughout multiple U.S. time zones.
