Job Description:

TEKsystems is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cable Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our premier clients. This client specializes in VOIP installation and support, Access Control, security camera systems, and a wide range of low voltage wiring projects tailored to meet client-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling system installations.

+ Pull copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cables in backbone, horizontal, and riser environments.

+ Terminate voice and data jacks, patch panels, and cross-connect voice cables on 66 or 110 blocks.

+ Assist in building out data closets, including installing ladder racks, cable trays, data racks, and rack-mounted equipment.

+ Learn to read blueprints and assist in identifying cabling pathways.

+ Ensure compliance with all building codes and safety standards.

+ Communicate effectively with team members including Technicians, Foremen, and Field Supervisors.

+ Assist with testing copper cable installations and learn to operate testing equipment.

+ Accurately complete timesheets, expense reports, mileage logs, and other job-related documentation.

+ Perform additional duties as required to support project success.

Qualifications:

+ 1+ years of experience in low voltage cabling or related field preferred.

+ Basic understanding of cabling standards and installation practices.

+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

+ Strong communication and organizational skills.

+ Willingness to learn and grow within the role.

+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
