Job Summary

The Jewish Life Advisor supports the Jewish community on campus by fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant environment for Jewish students. This role involves advising student organizations, coordinating cultural and religious programs, and serving as a resource for students exploring Jewish identity, traditions, and spirituality. The Advisor collaborates with campus partners, including faculty and staff to support an inclusive and welcoming community.

The hiring rate for this position is expected to be: $20.00 per hour.

Education/Skills Requirements

+ Required:

Bachelors Degree

+ Knowledge of and respect for traditions, culture, and practices across different Jewish religious movements .

+ Strong organizational and communication skills.

+ Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.

+ Familiarity with residential college environments.

+ Ability to work evenings and weekends for events.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

+ Experience working with college students or adults aged 17-25 in a mentoring or advisory capacity.

+ Demonstrated significant experience in Jewish education.

+ Previous experience in Jewish Communal Life, student affairs or non-profit leadership preferred.

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is a casual, part-time, non-benefit eligible position working less than 19 hours/week.

Standard administrative hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm. Some evening and weekend programming required.

The anticipated start dates the for candidate selected will be on or after August 1, 2025.

This is an on-site role, and candidates must be able to work in person on Bowdoin College Campus in Brunswick, Maine.
