Job Summary
The Muslim Life Advisor supports the spiritual, religious, and cultural needs of Muslim students on our small, residential liberal arts campus. This part-time, 10-15 hour per week role provides mentorship, fosters community, and develops programming that supports students’ religious identity and holistic well-being. The advisor will be a visible and consistent presence on campus, offering guidance, advocacy, and opportunities for engagement and connection.
The hiring rate for this position is expected to be: $20.00 per hour.
Education/Skills Requirements
+ Required:
Bachelors Degree
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and provide non-judgmental support to students of diverse identities and experiences.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
+ Prior experience working with college students or in a community organization setting.
+ Familiarity with Muslim religious practices, traditions, and cultural diversity within the Muslim community.
+ Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and respectful campus environment.
Preferred experience:
+ Experience in religious or spiritual advising, student affairs, or pastoral care.
+ Knowledge of the dynamics of small, residential college communities.
Standard Work Days and Hours
This is a casual, part-time, non-benefit eligible position working less than 19 hours/week.
Standard administrative hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm. Some evening and weekend programming required.
The anticipated start dates the for candidate selected will be on or after August 1, 2025.
This is an on-site role, and candidates must be able to work in person on Bowdoin College Campus in Brunswick, Maine.
