Department/Employer Operating Hours Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work is required during specific months, and compensatory time will be granted for these additional hours.
How many hours per week are required? This position requires an average of 20 hours a week
Description of Primary Duties
The Missouri State-West Plains ( MSU -WP) Office of University Advancement (https://wp.missouristate.edu/UniversityAdvancement/) Relations is accepting applications for student worker(s). This position supports the Missouri State University Foundation’s (https://www.missouristatefoundation.org/) Division for University Advancement, operating on the MSU -WP campus. This department is housed within the Office of University Advancement at Kellett Hall. This position will be available beginning in August for the 2025 fall semester. Must be able to work during the summer semester and attend night and weekend events, as needed. The position(s) will remain open until filled.
+ Support the general administrative business functions, processes, projects and events of the department
+ Direct calls and assists walk-in visitors for the university advancement office in a welcoming and appropriate manner
+ Handle funds, maintains confidential information and records
+ Assist in scholarship processing and communication
+ Maintain spreadsheets and understands reports relating to scholarships and events
+ Assist with the production of communications sent to external constituents as needed
+ Maintain department database records
+ Work and prepare events for various university, donor, alumni, student and community constituents, including but not limited to The Founder’s Club, Chancellor’s Advisory Board, MSU Foundation Board of Trustees and Board of Governors, Development Ambassadors, Friends of the Garnett Library and The Grizzly Club
+ Responsible for organizing and inventorying event-related items and materials
+ Basic office functions, such as filing, scanning, copying and sorting
+ Promote a positive image on campus and within the community
+ Contribute to the success of University Advancement and MSU -WP by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
+ Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree
+ Meet deadlines with minimal supervision
+ Work quickly and efficiently, while staying attentive to detail
+ Willing to learn new online software and platforms, as well as Microsoft Suite & Microsoft 365
+ Be able to troubleshoot and think critically
+ Be ready to work independently, as well as with a team, adapting to communication styles and prepared to listen
+ Be able to push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds
+ Work consecutive hours with moderate physical activity and continuous standing and walking
+ Night and weekend work is required during some months. Compensation time will be given for these extra work hours.
