We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months, supporting their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
The Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center, located at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, is an award winning and leading provider of early childhood education in South Jersey for over 50 years. We offer full day infant/toddler care, nursery school and preschool, full day certified Kindergarten, pre-K and transitional Kindergarten for ages 6 weeks through 6 years.
Hours: Monday-Friday (Flexibility would be a plus)
Salary Pay: $17-$19/hour based on experience
Summary:
It is essential that all staff participate in a variety of agency wide and interdepartmental activities. Staff should be
knowledgeable about our agency and be able to respond appropriately with accurate information.
+ Create and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
+ Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
+ Foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes trust and emotional security.
+ Monitor and document developmental milestones and daily routines (feeding, diapering, sleeping).
+ Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s progress and needs.
+ Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
+ Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and center policies.
Required Education & Experience:
+ High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
+ Infant/Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred.
+ Minimum of 1 year experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
+ CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
+ Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills.
+ Passion for working with young children and supporting their development
Work Environment:
+ Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
+ Frequent bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor.
+ Active engagement with infants throughout the day.
