This position is in GE Healthcare's MIM Software business which makes vendor-neutral imaging software to standardize your workflow and simplify increasingly complex clinical scenarios. Leading global healthcare organizations use MIM® to give patients more precise, personalized care.

As a developer working on our Java desktop application, you will work on challenging projects to manipulate, display, find, transfer, and label medical images. The MIM platform provides tools to automate medical processes, transfer and store medical data, and so much more – all to solve problems faced by today’s medical professionals.
Job Description
What You'll Do:
+ Maintain, improve, and add features to a large and mature code base written in Java, developing your autonomy and creativity.
+ Produce quality code by writing automated tests and participating in peer code review.
+ Mitigate and document cybersecurity risks.
+ Enhance custom frameworks.
+ Learn about the medical industry as needed.
+ Investigate bug reports from end users, within large software systems, and provide user-facing teams with software solutions.
+ Interact directly with user-facing staff to define input requirements and see the impact of your work.
+ Communicate with the team regularly to coordinate on projects, overcome roadblocks, and celebrate successes.
+ Work with your manager to personalize your growth path.
+ Contribute meaningfully to GE Healthcare's overall mission of improving patient care.
What You'll Need:
+ A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or a related scientific field with notable computer science coursework.
+ Two years of industry experience (preferably in Java).
+ In lieu of a degree, you must have a minimum of five years of direct industry experience in Java.
+ Knowledge of object-oriented principles and the data structures that support them.
+ General problem-solving skills.
+ Strong analytical thinking.
+ Communication and organization skills.
+ An appetite for continued learning of both technical and interpersonal skills.
+ A preexisting understanding of medical imaging is not required.
