Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering Director to join our dynamic team in the Transaction Banking Technology space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing multiple software platforms, implementing SaaS solutions, and leading global cross-functional teams. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to ensure the high availability, scalability, and performance of enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead technical planning, architectural decisions, and performance tuning for mission-critical systems, achieving measurable efficiency gains.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
+ Oversee the delivery of software projects, ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality execution.
+ Supervise engineering teams developing web, mobile and enterprise applications, ensuring adherence to best practices, code quality, and test coverage.
+ Extensive experience in designing and developing microservices architectures, with a deep understanding of best practices and implementation strategies.
+ Hands-on expertise in full-stack development across web and mobile platforms, working closely with engineering teams using technologies such as Java Spring Boot, Python, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Flutter/Dart.
+ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in AI development, with a focus on Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and building intelligent agents and chatbots using platforms such as OpenAI’s Inference API. Skilled in integrating AI capabilities into applications to enhance user interaction and automation.
+ Proven experience leveraging LLMs to integrate with business systems and workflows, enabling intelligent automation, contextual decision-making, and enhanced operational efficiency across enterprise platforms.
+ Experienced in designing and implementing workflow automation and rule-based systems using tools such as Activiti and Drools to orchestrate business processes, enforce logic, and streamline operations.
+ Drive system upgrades, service reliability, and platform scalability across legacy and modern architectures.
+ Monitor system performance using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace, lead incident resolution and continuous improvement efforts.
+ Implement and manage On-prem and SaaS solutions, promoting best practices and ensuring robust delivery.
+ Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
+ Lead and mentor software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
+ 15+ years of experience in enterprise system management or engineering leadership, preferably in financial services.
+ Deep expertise in Java, Python, REST API, multithreading, Kafka, IBM MQ, SQL, and architectural design patterns.
+ Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, DevOps practices, and tools such as Jira and ALM.
+ Proven experience managing multiple Agile teams delivering enterprise software in the financial services industry.
+ Demonstrated success in cloud platforms (Azure/OpenShift), backend development (Java Spring Boot, Python, .NET), and data platforms (SQL, NoSQL, Kafka).
+ Experience in full-stack development (Angular/TypeScript, API, Database) and enterprise architecture.
+ Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
+ Experience managing vendor relationships and offshore/onshore development teams.
+ Strong understanding of data governance, fraud detection, risk analytics, and banking systems.
+ Demonstrated leadership in AI/ML-driven product initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with Oracle VAM and Oracle Digital Experience.
+ Experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP S/4 HANA.
+ Working knowledge of Transaction Banking, including cash management, payments, liquidity, trade finance, and corporate banking platforms.
+ Experience modernizing transaction processing systems and integrating with protocols such as SWIFT and ISO 20022.
+ Familiarity with real-time transaction routing, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
+ Prior collaboration with corporate banking clients or business units in delivering transactional products and services.

The typical base pay range for this role is between **$193k to $243k** depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
