    What's the Job

     

    Are you someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, digging into the details, staying on top of tax rules, and making sure everything adds up just right? We’re looking for a **Tax Analyst** to join our new team and help keep our sales and use tax filings accurate, timely, and compliant.

    About the Role

    **Dexterra** is growing! We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated **Tax Analyst** to support our U.S. indirect tax compliance and reporting activities. This role focuses on the preparation, review, and filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, as well as supporting audits and contributing to process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    What You Will Do

    + Prepare and file accurate and timely sales and use tax returns across various U.S. states and local jurisdictions.

    + Reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper documentation is maintained for all filings.

    + Assist with sales and use tax audits, including gathering documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.

    + Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on compliance processes.

    + Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.

    + Support the implementation and maintenance of tax automation tools and ERP system configurations.

    + Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in developing more efficient workflows.

    + Assist with special projects and ad hoc tax-related tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Who are we looking for?

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    + 2–4 years of experience in U.S. indirect tax compliance, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional environment.

    + Working knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations.

    + CPA designation or progress toward certification is an asset.

    + Experience with NetSuite ERP is preferred; experience with tax software is a plus.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Great communication and time-management skills.

    + A can-do attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
