Special Assets Generalist

Responsible for assisting duties relative to the Special Assets Department (SAD) in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations and Bank lending policies and procedures.
+ Assists in ensuring the Bank’s position is properly secured related to assets pledged by the borrower; takes appropriate measures to mitigate the risks and/or losses in this portfolio.
+ Assists in the recovery of principal, accrued interest, penalties, fees and/or expenses associated with management, enforcement and/or collection of over-drafts, assigned classified and/or non-performing assets.
+ Assists with credit analysis, workout management, collection, restructuring, asset recovery, enforcement and dissolution of assigned loans, and Other Real Estate Owned (OREO) following policy and procedures.
+ Works with manager and bank counsel to evaluate collateral, loan documentation, and financial information to determine borrower's ability to repay. Develops repayment and action plans in consultation with CCO and LRO.
+ Conducts negotiations with borrowers and borrower's counsel. Makes necessary recommendations based on conditions presented to protect the bank's interest and achieve maximum recovery.
+ Assists in activities necessary to foreclose on real estate and personal property.
+ Assists in activities to ensure effective management and maintenance of OREO properties including compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements.
+ Assists with management of applicable bankruptcy filings, in conjunction with manager and bank counsel regarding receiverships, foreclosures, and prosecution of actions to recover on promissory notes and foreclose on security interests.
+ Interacts with bank legal counsel and manager to develop enforcement and collection strategies.
+ Manages legal and other expenses associated with assets under management following authorities granted.
+ Performs administrative management of functions related to classified performing and/or non-performing loans and OREO portfolios regarding bank funding process for all third-party expense invoices, inclusive of OREO expenses including track and processing all rental-income.
+ Performs administrative management and other support related to appraisal and environmental requirements for loans.
+ Manages loan transfers to SAD, including checklists of all documentation and procedural requirements.
+ Processes monthly reports, coordinates with Loan Operations in application of loan payments and preparing loan pay-off statements.
+ Participates in assigned training specific to state/federal regulations and banking industry related training, relative to consumer and commercial loan workouts and OREO disposition.
+ Conforms to General Performance Expectations as identified for all employees.
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Associates’ Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ Three or more years increasing responsibility and work experience in a relevant field
+ Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria, focusing on related legal documents; financial institution services, products, policies and procedures and overall business objectives for commercial lending and special asset resolution preferred.
+ Proficient interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, all levels of management, as well as special asset related third parties (bank/borrower attorneys and civil/federal court personnel).
+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to travel and valid Driver’s License required
Salary Range $19 to $31 Hourly
