    PRINCIPAL DUTIES

    Act as a strong leader and promoter of school safety

     

    Promote positive relationships between the school and neighboring community. Serve as liaison between the school and the agency or group in specific situations. Actively supervise hallways, cafeterias, common areas, restrooms, entryways, and outdoor spaces throughout the school day.

     

    Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families to support a culture of safety, respect, and belonging.

     

    Serve as an additional point of contact for student safety concerns, following school protocols for reporting and response.

     

    Participate actively in safety drills, emergency procedures, and assist with crisis response if necessary.

     

    Communicate consistently with administration regarding safety observations and building safety needs.

     

    Serve as a visible, positive adult preference – modeling professionalism, kindness, and high safety expectations.

     

    Assist the Building Administrator with the coordination & organization of the Building/Hallway Sweep System.

     

    Assist the Building Administrator with Building Drills (lockdown, fire, tornado, etc).

     

    Assist with parent notification for students outside of their designated area.

     

    Building Lead for Emergency Protocols Training.

     

    Building Liaison for CrisisGo.

     

    Provide daily follow-up to campus security each day.

     

    Regular attendance required.

     

    Regular participation in ongoing Professional Development in order to be successful in this position.

     

    Be on your feet and actively moving throughout the majority of the workday.

     

    Perform other duties as may be assigned.

     

    Wear a Campus Safety Liaison uniform each day, provided by the district.

     

    Attend monthly Safe & Secure Learning Team meetings at the ELSC.

     

    Reports to: Safe & Secure Learning Environment Administrator.

    CLASSIFICATION

    Teacher Associates

     

    Eight (8) hours per day.

     

    $16.60/hr

    PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

    Ability to respond quickly to urgent situations across different areas of the building.

     

    Ability to remain composed under pressure and use sound judgement.

     

    Ability to work flexible hours-including overtime

     

    Ability to work successfully and build positive relationships and rapport with all students

     

    Ability to successfully supervise a wide range of activities and persons

     

    Ability to work with administrators, faculty and staff members, students, parents, and community members in multiple roles

     

    Possession of excellent communication skills

     

    Tenacity and persistence.

     

    Prior security experience.

    pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the classroom including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when supervising students outside of the classroom.
