    WORK OBJECTIVE: The Security Analyst will identify, analyze and resolve problems within the Authority’s security systems by evaluation of risks, vulnerabilities, threats and incidents. Responsibilities include securing the company assets, overseeing infrastructure to ensure it is up to date, performing security assessments and incident investigation. Working closely with internal resources along with third parties, both internally and externally, the Security Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end security cybersecurity posture of the Authority.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. • Identifying vulnerabilities in systems and applications. • Detect and respond to security incidents. • Develop and implement security policies and procedures. • Frequently auditing of account provisioning, systems changes, firewall/network changes. • Ethical hacking of internal systems and applications to identify weaknesses. • Data scripting to automate data analysis and reporting. • Respond to security incidents to assist with identification, containment and remediation. • Creating, auditing and maintaining security related policies. • Creating disaster recovery plans. • Implementing and monitoring endpoint protection software. • Conducting penetration testing and remediation. • Creating and verifying security plans with third party vendors. • Assessing and testing new software and technologies. • Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends. • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns. • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution. • Perform additional duties and tasks assigned.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), antivirus, proxies, firewalls, and intrusion detection concepts related to the field Endpoint management, particularly with a variety of tools like computers, phones, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices Knowledge of security management frameworks Knowledge of network infrastructures Knowledge of network monitoring systems Analytical skills to analyze complex information, identify patterns and make data-driven decisions Problem Solving Teamwork Confidential or sensitive information may be encountered during work activities and the expectation to keep this information private and secure is required. After hours support and on call may be required as the need arises.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and /or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds) with the occasional need to lift heavier equipment and materials with or without assistance as required.

     

    ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems and two years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), or similar credentials are preferred. Experience with managing and securing both on-premises and hosted systems and applications. Experience should include 2+ years of experience in a related role.
