    Position Description

    The College of Health Professions (https://www.health.txst.edu/) invites applications for a non-tenure clinical faculty for the Health Sciences Online Program Coordinator position atTexas State University (https://www.txst.edu/) . Qualified candidates are passionate about delivering high-quality health science education in an online learning format using state-of-the-art learning modalities. This is a full-time nine-month appointment, with the opportunity for summer employment based on the department’s needs. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. This position is subject to the availability of funds.

     

    This position will be located in Encino Hall on the San Marcos campus.

    Reporting to the Associate Dean for the College of Health Professions, this position will:

    + Coordinate with TXST Global contacts for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences ( BSHS ) online program.

    + Facilitate updates to the BSHS curriculum for 8-week delivery.

    + Oversee program and course changes in alignment with department, college, and university processes, including Curriculum Services and the Registrar’s Office.

    + Ensure consistency across BSHS Canvas course sites and syllabi.

    + Schedule BSHS courses to enable year-round rolling enrollments.

    + Communicate with BSHS faculty to maintain consistency in course delivery.

    + Assist with the development of marketing and promotional materials for the BSHS program.

    + Support the Associate Dean in recruiting qualified online faculty.

    + Teach a minimum of two course sections in the online BSHS program.

    Required Qualifications

    For all ranks:

    + An earned master’s degree in a health-related discipline or related field.

    + Experience with online education and technology.

    For Appointment at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank (less than five years teaching):

    + Demonstrated current and contemporary competence in the teaching content area as well as a commitment to service and scholarship.

    For Appointment at the Clinical Associate Professor rank (minimum five years teaching):

    + Demonstrated teaching and learning contributions, including advances in curriculum, pedagogy, course delivery, or similar innovation, and a commitment to service.

    For Appointment at the Clinical Professor rank (minimum 10 years teaching):

    + Demonstrated effective and sustained teaching and learning contributions, including advances in curriculum, pedagogy, course delivery, or similar innovation and commitment to service.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + An earned doctorate in a health-related discipline or related field.

    + Experience with interprofessional education, healthcare educational programs, financial management, and healthcare organizations.

    + Professional discipline-related experience.

    + Teaching experience utilizing a variety of instructional strategies, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid delivery, experiential learning, or field-based experiences to engage students.

    + Demonstrated collegial leadership and team development.

    + Experience in higher education, including accreditation, program development, assessment, and curriculum design.

    + Experience in building and promoting community relationships and partnerships.
