    Job Summary

    As the Director of Special Events for a premier corporate client, you'll serve as the main point of contact for for special events. In this role, you'll work directly with our clients planning outstanding on-premise events.

     

    Work schedule is Monday through Friday and hours will vary depending on event schedule (primarily daytime hours). The position entails a need for excellent attention to detail and communication skills and the ability to multi-task on a variety of projects simultaneously.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develops and implements service standards for small and large special events across different sites in NYCPlans menus, layout, decor, and booking entertainment (when appropriate) for catered events.Manages the event budget from the initial stage and provides after event summary and costCollaborates and supports Director of Catering Services and Executive Chef in planning eventsIdentifies client/guest needs and interacts in a positive, proactive mannerMaintains accurate tracking and billing systems for catered eventsDisseminates information to all concerned department heads and staff members through preparation and distribution of detailed function sheets at regularly scheduled intervalsOther duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications: Strong knowledge of food and industry trendsMinimum of 3 years of experience in managing catering events in a high volume, luxury F&B environmentServSafe certification, recommendedSuperior communication and problem-solving/strategizing skillsExcellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPointConformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
