    Job Summary

    ThePerformance, Rehabilitation, and Injury Management through Exercise (PRIME) (https://www.kines.umich.edu/research/labs-centers/performance-rehabilitation-injury-management-through-exercise-prime-lab) andHuman Bioenergetics Laboratories (https://www.kines.umich.edu/research/labs-centers/human-bioenergetics-laboratory) are jointly seeking a Research Coordinator to support an industry funded exercise-based human research study. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to coordinate research activities, including participant scheduling, data collection and processing, and subject monitoring. This position will also work closely with laboratory staff, investigators, and external collaborators to support the successful execution of research protocols and ensure timely project completion.

    Responsibilities*

    Responsibilities associated with this full-time position include, **but are not limited to:**

    Project Coordination Responsibilities (~50%)

    + Participant Recruitment and Scheduling - Collaborate with Project Manager and research team to identify, recruit and enroll study participants. Coordinate scheduling for participant screenings and in-lab study assessments. Communicate directly with participants to confirm visit logistics and study requirements. (EF)

    + Participant Communication and Monitoring - Monitor enrolled participants' compliance with out-of-lab data collection protocols, including wearable device activity tracking and month blood draws. (EF)

    Research and Lab Responsibilities (~25%)

    + Data Management and Collection - Performing data entry related to participant screening and study visits. Enter and manage all study data using REDCap project management platform. Support in-lab data collection procedures as needed. (EF)

    + Supervise and mentor student research assistants and contribute to their training in laboratory procedures and equipment use. Help maintain an organized and collaborative lab environment.

    Administrative Responsibilities (~25%)

    + Facilitate study monitoring and management by ensuring adherence to institutional IRB protocols, federal regulations, and sponsor requirements. Assist in maintaining accurate and complete study documentation. (EF)

    + Administer participant compensation, including submission of Human Subject Incentive Program (HSIP) requests. Track incentive distributions and ensure proper documentation. (EF)

    + Provide regular project updates to lab leadership and support team communication across multiple stakeholders. (EF)

    Required Qualifications*

    + Master's (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in a Health Science field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

    + Minimum 2 years of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary.

    + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage and coordinate several study-related tasks concurrently

    + Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to work with others in a dynamic, collaborative environment are required. This position involves close interaction with faculty, staff, graduate/undergraduate students, and community-based participants.

    + Applicants with prior experience using REDCap, knowledge of university research policy and procedures, experience with MLabs, and/or phlebotomy knowledge are desired.

    Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.     Additional Information

     

    The position is available immediately and is term-limited, funded for 13 months; the initial appointment may be extended depending on performance and availability of research funds. The general salary range for this position is $43,000-$52,000, commensurate with education and experience. An offer may be extended outside of this range based on equity, experience, knowledge, and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor understanding and transparency throughout the recruiting process. Benefits are included with this position.

     

    This is an onsite position, with work taking place in the School of Kinesiology building (830 N. University Ave., Ann Arbor MI 48109). There is the potential to transition to hybrid/remote work after initial familiarization with lab procedures, space, and equipment. Candidates interested in hybrid/remote work should indicate this to the hiring manager during the recruiting process.

     

    Background Screening
