    Experiential Opportunities Manager

    Job Summary

    The LSA Opportunity Hub at the University of Michigan is seeking an Experiential Opportunities Manager who will play a pivotal role in expanding career learning experiences for LSA students. This position will help shape and scale the Hub's emerging flagship Career Trek program, launch new job shadow and short-term employer project opportunities, and manage the Hub's involvement in the LSA Internship Scholarship process. The Experiential Opportunities Manager will play a key role in ensuring employer relationships remain engaged and relevant by monitoring activity levels, identifying underutilized relationships, and curating a portfolio that reflects a broad range of industries and opportunity types aligned with student interests and career goals. This role reports to the Director of Employer Engagement and partners closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement and scale high-impact experiential learning opportunities for LSA students.

    Responsibilities*

    Experiential Program Development and Management (35%)

    + Initiate and maintain strategic relationships with employers to generate internships, career treks, job shadow experiences, and other experiential learning opportunities

    + Serve as the operational lead for career trek and job shadow programming-from initial planning to implementation

    + Analyze employer engagement data to identify overlooked or lapsed employers; propose and execute re-engagement strategies

    + Activate underutilized segments of the employer portfolio by aligning them with relevant Hub programming

    + Monitor trends in emerging industries and student interest areas to ensure offerings remain current and inclusive

    LSA Internship Scholarship Management (30%)

    + Work with the Learning, Data, and Assessment team at the Hub and the Scholarships Office to ensure process alignment and student support

    + Use scholarship data to inform strategic decisions about scholarship impact and accessibility

    + Assist in managing the internship submission review process in collaboration with ALA 225 and train staff members on the Employer Engagement team

    + Provide data for donor stewardship and cultivation, and identify gaps in funding

    + Collaborate with the Learning, Data, and Assessment team to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach and programming pertaining to internships and the LSA Internship Scholarship

    Student Engagement and Programming (25%)

    + Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching to students navigating experiential opportunities and internship scholarship processes, including eligibility requirements

    + Analyze feedback from students to improve program design and reflect a wide range of identities, interests, and career goals

    + Assist in preparing students for participation in career treks and job shadows through guidance and pre-engagement content

    + Establish, maintain, and foster relationships with career-based student groups to enhance employer access to LSA students

    Communication and Operations (10%)

    + Support employer engagement team efforts to enhance employer presence in LSA Engage and across the Hub's touchpoints

    + Increase early marketing and communication efforts to inform LSA students about the availability of scholarship funds and experiential learning opportunities

    + Represent the LSA Internship Scholarship to campus leadership and external audiences

    + Collaborate with Comms and LDA to

    + Maintain accurate employer, student, and scholarship data to support stewardship and reporting efforts

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience

    + Experience in employer engagement, recruiting, career services, student services, or fostering meaningful connections with internal and external stakeholders to drive an organization's mission forward

    + Progressive leadership experience

    + High level of organizational ability, including the ability to organize and coordinate a diverse workload with attention to detail

    + Ability to act independently, take initiative, and promote innovation while maintaining the flexibility to meet changing priorities

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Master's degree in a relevant field of study

    + Experience in a liberal arts and sciences program

    + Working knowledge of academic units, structures, and goals, and demonstrated success engaging internal and external partners

    + Experience with career-related programs in a university setting
