The role youll contribute:
The Great Lakes Region Regional CIO is the most senior IT leader in their assigned region. The Regional CIO will be responsible for local IT operations, technology, and planning. The regional CIO The position collaborates with the regional executive leadership team. representing broad interests from departments/services across the region and the organization building strong and productive relationships with all business unit leaders, acting as a true partner and making IT a business enabler.
The Regional CIO leads an integrated IT organization aligned across 3 main **local IT** functions: IT planning, product & project delivery and IT support & field operations. The position serves as the markets senior IT executive sponsor for major business and information technology transformation initiatives. The Regional CIO creates, supports, and directs the development of local information systems short- and long-range plans in concert with the various AdventHealths regional goals and objectives for AdventHealth based hospitals and business entities based on and in collaboration with AdventHealths corporate strategy and direction. The Regional CIO will be responsible for ensuring alignment with hospital and market strategies as well as maximizing physician engagement.
The Great Lakes Region Regional CIO reports to the SVP, IT Operations & Service Management and leads multiple sites and their teams in an integrated IT organization, including application deployment and support, IT operations, knowledge and content management, project management and change management. The position serves as the senior project executive for major business and information technology transformation initiatives across the enterprise.
The regional CIO is uniquely positioned to understand the local organizational structure, geopolitical considerations, key opinion leaders, and appropriate stakeholders to engage in discussions and planning across the region and markets they lead. The Regional CIO is accountable for the overall satisfaction and success of the IT services delivered into the region and perceptions of IT in the region.
This position requires a confident, emotionally intelligent, forward leaning, big picture thinking technology and operational leader who has significant history and demonstrated experience in innovation and customer service, either within or outside the healthcare industry, and can collaborate with all stakeholders. Key skill sets necessary to be successful in this role will be a strategic leader who has demonstrated the ability to hire and mentor strong teams, provide a keen sense of purpose and trust, while also holding individuals accountable for the overall success of their efforts.
In conjunction with Great Lakes Region regional leadership, the CIO will provide region- wide clinical system, administrative system and technical leadership to our user community and promote an environment of engagement and communication between physicians, team members, hospital executive teams and operational leadership. The Regional CIO is also the primary liaisonmanaging the business needs of their respective facilities and aligning them with corporate wide initiatives and projects.

The RCIO is responsible for delivering technology platforms and network infrastructure sufficient to support business applications in a secure, reliable, maintainable and cost-effective manner. Provides daily operational support for the infrastructure and applications sufficient to meet the organization's performance measurement goals. Responsible for developing and maintaining staff expertise in current and anticipated information technologies. Responsible for building a strong team, managing customer expectations and effectively resolving conflicts in order to deliver effective, timely and cost-effective services.
The RCIO is also responsible for maintaining relationships and open communication with the facility executives they serve as well as leadership at the enterprise level. AdventHealth is a highly matrixed, complex organization and maintaining those relationships requires diplomacy and tact.
The RCIO is expected to set high goals for personal and group accomplishment and use measurement methods to track progress toward meeting the objective.
The RCIO will ensure that the (internal or external) customer's perspective is a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes, and individual activities. She/ He will craft and implement service practices that meet customers' and own organization's needs, promoting and operationalizing customer service as a value.
The RCIO will use one's knowledge of economic, financial, market, and industry trends to understand and improve individual, work group, and/or organizational results. She/ He will use understanding of major business functions, industry trends, and own organization's position to contribute to effective business strategies and/or tactics.
The RCIO will take actions to develop relationships necessary to meet and exceed patient needs (includes relationships with patients, patients' families, coworkers, and external partners), holding self and others accountable for providing a positive patient experience (including safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes). The RCIO will use appropriate interpersonal techniques to resolve difficult patient situations and regain their confidence.
The RCIO will obtain information and identify key issues and relationships relevant to achieving long-range goals and will commit to a course of action (including the development of alternative strategies based on logical assumptions, facts, available resources, constraints, and organizational values) to ensure completion and success.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed** **:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED** **:
An experienced Healthcare IT professional, such as a Director of IT or a CIO, preferably in a complex hospital or a multi-entity system.
Experience in a highly matrixed environment preferred.
Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience.
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED** **:
Experience with ServiceNow, EPIC, Workday applications preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** **:
Undergraduate degree in Information Management or related field
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED** **:
Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer
Process or project certifications.
Technical Certifications
