    We are seeking a strategic and data-driven **Customer Experience & Segmentation Director** within the Electric Power Division to drive customer-centric growth initiatives across our power generation business. This role will be responsible for developing and executing segmentation strategies that enhance customer understanding, optimize go-to-market approaches, and inform product, service, and marketing decisions.

     

    The ideal candidate will combine deep analytical expertise with strong business acumen and a passion for translating insights into action. This role is pivotal in shaping how we engage with diverse customer segments—from utilities and industrials to EPCs — across global markets.

     

    + Develop behavior-based customer segmentation profiles

    + Map customer journeys to identify decision timelines and criteria, opportunities for early and often engagement and the key criteria that matter most.

    + Improve personalized multi-channel customer recommendations and personalized marketing

    + Bring a differentiated behavioral segmentation understanding and establish a customer experience strategy

    + Work with Electric Power business Vice Presidents to embed customer segmentation in business reporting, go-to-market strategy, product and marketing strategy and digital

    + Be a trusted coach for potential leaders focusing on improved business and financial acumen, leadership, performance management, and employee insights action plans

    + Build an EP leadership program that can be leveraged with leaders, focusing on situational business-based scenarios including executive presentations, storytelling, and communication.

    + Provide support and development for customers, dealers, and Caterpillar tools, including Specsizer and Salesforce.

    + Oversee and facilitate the expansion of customer engagement with Caterpillar’s PowerHub platform for online sizing, configuration, and online product ordering.

    Job Requirements:

    + Degree required

    + 10+ years of Sales or Marketing Experience

    Top Candidates will also have:

    + Previous customer segmentation experience

    + Previous experience in developing commercial strategies

    + An understanding of digital, including eCommerce

    Skills Requirements:

    + **Customer Focus** : Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

    + **Decision Making and Critical Thinking** : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

    + **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    + **Business Development:** Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.

    + **Value Selling** : Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

    Additional Information:

    + This role will be onsite 5-days per week in Irving, TX or Mossville, IL with <20% travel.

    + Domestic relocation will be available.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $185,400.00 - $278,160.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
