Responsibilities
+ Provide nursing assessments/interventions.
+ Develop in conjunction with the participant, caregiver, and case manager the Individual Treatment Plan.
+ Coordinate needed medical services, such as; toileting, bathing, mobility assistance, transferring, and other cares as needed.
+ Monitor MD orders.
+ Provide education to center staff, participants and caregivers on health issues.
+ Provide supervision to designated staff and volunteers.
+ Accountable for delegation of nursing assignments.
+ Supervises clinical students.
+ Assist with staff development through in-services.
+ Maintains accountability in compliance with regulations in clinical records.
+ Assist the Director as needed.
+ May drive participant to and from center.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Ability to respond to participant health care needs and make appropriate referrals.
+ Ability to provide/develop health education to participants, families and staff.
+ Ability to provide/develop therapeutic activities in conjunction with the Activity Coordinator.
+ Ability to comply with regulatory governing bodies.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and oral form.
+ Ability to develop/maintain relationships with the medical community.
+ Ability to maintain professionalism in emergency situations.
+ Ability to lift 50#
+ Ability to push, pull wheelchairs, use gait belts correctly, and support clients with walkers.
Qualifications
+ Valid Iowa RN License and gerontology certificate or experience apreferred.
+ Completion of Dependent Adult Abuse Training in accordance with Iowa Law.
+ CPR training
+ Valid Iowa Driver’s license.
+ Must carry current automobile insurance in accordance with AbbeHealth’s policies.
