    About the Team

    Walmart’s **Accelerated Pickup & Delivery (APD)** Product Team is transforming how customer orders are fulfilled through automation in the back of our stores. These **APD-enabled locations** use Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) to streamline and scale store fulfillment, reducing cost while enhancing speed and accuracy.

     

    The team works closely with Global Tech, Merchandising, and Store Operations to integrate automation technology into Walmart’s omnichannel ecosystem—improving both customer and associate experiences.

    About the Role

    As a **Senior Product Manager – Assortment** , you’ll influence ways to select optimal assortment that should be placed into the automation. You will own the product roadmap for software that determine automation eligibility and item data management. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams within Walmart including software engineers, merchandising, APD design engineers, and APD process engineers amongst others.

    What You’ll Do

    • Own and drive the **assortment eligibility product roadmap** for APD stores aiding optimizing selection to improve customer experience.

    • Partner with engineering teams and merchandising to define requirements, validate functionality, and improve assortment selection.

    • Use data, AI/ML, and optimization tools to enhance assortment selection workflows.

    • Define and track KPIs like automation throughput and manual overrides to guide prioritization and continuous improvement.

    • Collaborate across selection, replenishment, and APD WMS product teams to ensure seamless software integration and operational flows.

    • Balance customer expectations, associate usability, and automation system constraints to deliver best-in-class solutions.

    • Manage and direct production defects to ensure issues are fixed in a timely manner.

    • Foster a high-performing product culture centered on clarity, innovation, and execution.

    What You’ll Bring

    • Understanding of **assortment placement** with a focus on enhancing fulfillment accuracy, speed, and cost-efficiency.

    • Familiarity of **automation & ASRS systems and store processes.**

    • Experience building and scaling backend systems across multiple software teams, ideally in replenishment, fulfillment, or warehouse automation.

    • Ability to analyze and act on data to drive continuous product and process improvements.

    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and communicating clearly with technical and operational stakeholders.

    • Bonus: Familiarity with APD environments and grocery eCommerce fulfillment.

     

    Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs developing and communicating business plans and priorities removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance providing resources identifying performance standards measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly developing contingency plans and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training mentoring assigning duties building a team-based work environment establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations providing recognition and rewards coaching for success and improvement and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Promotes and supports company policies procedures mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application ensuring compliance with them and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans programs and initiatives consulting with business partners managers coworkers or other key stakeholders soliciting evaluating and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness and participating in and supporting community outreach events
