Title:

Software Engineer, Specialist

KBR is looking for a specialist-level Software Engineer to support the development and maturation of USAF open architecture standards. Our team leads the charge in architecture development, maturation, and coordination for multiple high-profile programs.

Specific tasks:

+ Instantiate, develop, and mature open architecture software in a KBR environment

+ Produce and brief demonstrations of open architecture core software and architecture-compliant capabilities

+ Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems with established code bases

+ A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact

+ Performs all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software for scientific/engineering applications

+ Perform internal testing of software products. Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements

+ Participates in the design, development, and utilization of scientific/engineering electronic data processing systems software

+ Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software

+ Participates in the development of engineering test strategies, devices and systems

Required Skills:

+ Active TOP SECRET clearance

+ Experience with C++ development in a Linux environment

+ Experience with modern commercial software development practices using tools like GitLab, Jira, Artifactory, and Nexus

+ Experience with collaborative software development in either open source or professional team environments.

Preferred Skills:

+ Government acquisition program experience

+ SAP experience

+ Experience with MBSE and design activities

+ Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and techniques

+ Familiarity with existing DoD open architectures, such as OMS

+ Knowledge of military systems and operational tactics

+ Developing software/hardware for flight systems

Required Education:

BS in engineering or computer science and 2 years of related experience

Required Experience:

2+ years in C++ software development

Preferred Experience:

2+ years in software development in a classified working environment
