    The Associate, Retail Banking (Mortgage Sales Support) is responsible for the initial handling of all loan files and dispatch of required documentation as established by the Bank and regulatory agencies. Position works hybrid based in San Juan, PR.

    MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

    + Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

    + Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Oriental Bank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

    + Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

    + Receiving all mortgage loan cases referred by Mortgage Sales Officer for processing and reconciling the files received against information gathered in the mortgage software reports of Encompass platform.

    + Dispatching the different confirmations / certifications to the corresponding Federal / Local Government Offices, private employers, Banks, Title Insurance Companies, credit reporting organizations, Flood certification companies, etc.

    + Periodic review on Encompass report as to the service received to minimize processing time.

    + Maintaining communication with Mortgage Sales Officers to advise of missing documentation, copies of deeds, incomplete files, missing the initial deposit or any other defect preventing the loan from being forwarded to Processing.

    + Verify that loan files and documents follow established guidelines and procedures.

    + Other duties may be assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required.

    + Two (2) years of experience in a related job or sales support required. Knowledge and experience of laws and regulations applicable to mortgage loans is highly desirable.

    + Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

    + Communicates effectively and clearly with a broad range of employees across the organization, as well as external counterparts.

    + Ability to work independently, organized and efficiently and meeting deadlines.

    + Fully bilingual - Spanish and English (verbal and written) required.

    + Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other business applications required. Knowledge in Encompass is highly desirable.

    + Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
