The overall purpose/primary function of the **Sr** . **System** **Admin** **, Cloud Operations** is to be a technical lead/subject matter expert on Cloud operations and administration in our IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DaaS, etc. environments. The candidate will define and be responsible for management of cloud services, capacity planning, backup strategies, break/fix, foundational improvements and integration execution.
Relevant platforms include but, not limited to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Apigee, Oracle Cloud, Salesforce, Red Hat and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) Applications and Servers, WebLogic / WebSphere Application Server / Java containers, Oracle Database, Microsoft Windows Applications and Servers, Cache servers, Search engines (Endeca or equivalent), and Repository (SVN / GIT).
This position is part of operations and interfaces with development and quality assurance teams. The **Sr Admin, Cloud Operations** is responsible for supporting proprietary applications, open source, commercial software, and cloud.
How You'll Shine:
+ Responsible for the administration of Services running in the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, etc.) that maintains the operational integrity of T+L’s systems/technologies on a 24x7 basis.
+ Perform daily tasks within the scope of the role including but not limited to, health checks, routine maintenance, review patch/maintenance levels, promote code / services, update and create documentation and proactively support the services in production and non-production environments.
+ This position also interfaces with 3rd party Managed Services and vendors, as well as in-house IT to support T+L’s services, specifically for problem, incident and change management.
+ Perform internally generated research on new products and technologies related to cloud. Be cloud subject matter expert (SME) - assist IT personnel when required in a consulting capacity in order to ensure project success. This is accomplished through meeting set objectives, and mentoring other members of IT when it comes to cloud technologies
+ Provide level 2 and 3 problem and incident response support for the enterprise production and non-production environments as well as for applications and services within the scope of the Technical Services infrastructure including domestic as well as global infrastructure components/systems where applicable. This includes on-call support activities and weekend/after hours as required.
+ Responsible for partnering with the engineering and architecture teams in the execution of systems/platform build and deployment for new and existing initiatives as per Technical Services designs and guidelines. Solutions include research in best practices as well as pre and post implementation documentation as well as project execution, when required.
+ Responsible for providing estimates for projects/initiatives, tracking time, and communicating as it relates to assigned projects/initiatives.
+ Performs other duties as needed.
Travel Requirements:
+ Given the geographically disparate nature of this team and the lines of business supported, travel will be required between the following locations (but not limited to): Orlando, FL, Indianapolis, IN, and potentially other international locations as need arises. Travel is demand-based and will average 10% - 20% of the time.
What You'll Bring:
+ Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
+ AWS Cloud Associate, Professional or specialization certifications, or Azure/GCP equivalent.
+ Ability to work as part of, and be a technical leader of, a team.
+ Ability to learn new technologies quickly and become a subject matter expert.
+ Self-sufficiency, initiative, and work ethic are essential. Excellent customer service, communication, and technical documentation skills.
+ Ability to identify, define and solve complex problems autonomously.
+ Knowledge of service management processes (e.g. ITIL) is essential.
+ Knowledge of working in an Agile environment is a plus.
+ Ability to adapt and work autonomously in a 24 x 7 global business.
+ A technical ability to holistically see overall enterprise IT infrastructure – how it integrates, how it is configured, how it is secured, how it is governed - and the ability to articulate that view verbally and in technical documentation.
+ Comprehensive understanding of public cloud offerings such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Services, Oracle Cloud, and the like.
+ Extensive system administration experience, preferably Red Hat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, or Windows
+ Total understanding of network/security systems and protocols
+ Experience with cloud security
+ Excellent customer service, communication, and technical documentation skills
+ Experience with container technologies
+ Java application server administration such as Tomcat, Weblogic, or WebSphere is a plus
+ Web server experience such as Apache, NGINX, IIS, or similar
+ Experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, SSH, Routing, Switching, Clustering, Load balancing, LAN
+ Minimum of 5 years of technology experience, and a minimum of 3 years of cloud administration experience. The qualified candidate is a hands-on technical admin, with proven production support and operational roles in an enterprise environment.
