HIM Support Assistant – Health Info Mgmt.

Loyola Medicine, a nationally recognized academic health system and member of Trinity Health, is seeking a **Health Information Management (HIM) Support Assistant** to join our collaborative and mission-driven team.

What you’ll do:

+ Perform a variety of HIM functions, including identity management, record retrieval, data integrity, and quality audits

+ Serve as a liaison for offsite vendors, external auditors, and physician/provider support

+ Manage record requests, mail distribution, and telephone coverage

+ Identify and resolve duplicate medical records and patient identity errors

+ Monitor documentation deficiency tracking and provider compliance

+ Perform documentation audits in alignment with Joint Commission standards

+ Ensure patient privacy and HIPAA compliance in all duties

What you’ll need:

+ High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred

+ 1–2 years of HIM or medical records experience (3–5 years preferred)

+ Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

+ Preferred: Experience with EPIC and HIM-related certifications (CCS, RHIT, RHIA)

+ Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality skills

Compensation:

Pay Range: $15.66 - $21.10 per hour
