Job Description

Assist Truck Driving Faculty truck/trailer time on the road and operations. Assist students in meeting commercial diver's licensing examination requirement (Class A with endorsements). Assist students with preparation of CDL road testing.

+ Assist Truck Driving Faculty truck/trailer time on the road and in labs. This includes instruction assistance on the driving course.

+ Accompany, monitor and tutor on-the-road training for program students; arrange for and organize student road trips for actual loading, hauling, and delivery of goods.

+ Assist students with preparation of CDL road testing.

+ Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.

Salary Range:

$21.57 - $30.13

Minimum Qualifications

+ Post-Secondary or industry Certificate in Truck Driving and 1 year of teaching/tutoring experience in Truck Driving at the high school level or above.

OR

+ 4 years of work experience in Truck Driving where no degree/certificate/diploma is required

OR

+ An equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualification

+ Driving and Class “A” commercial driver’s license, Valid CDL driver’s license, and Department of Transportation physical health card.

+ This job also may require walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain or may involve sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.

+ Knowledge of training techniques in order to make suggestions for change.

+ Knowledge of college policies, programs and curriculum sufficient to have students comply with and meet guidelines and goals.

+ Skills in human relations sufficient to motivate students in the education process.

Work Shift

Monday-Friday, (Hours vary depending on the needs of the department, Intermittent/Part-time)
