+ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Functions in an advanced clinical role to provide care/education to a group of staff, patients, families and/or community.

+ Provides patient and staff education/support/mentorship, clinical oversight/supervision, and participates in unit based activities to include but not limited to quality improvement, scheduling, NNP/PA staff development and evaluations.

+ Serves as a resource for clinical expertise and insight.

+ Works collaboratively with key professionals within the organization on human resources, performance improvement and fiscal management activities.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

+ Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license or current Virginia license as Physician’s Assistant.

+ Requires an advanced degree and current Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) or advanced degree and certification from the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam.

+ CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

+ MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

+ Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.

+ Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited School of Nursing.

+ Pediatric experience preferred.

+ WORKING CONDITIONS

+ Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.
