    A Glimpse of the Job

     

    The Financial Analyst II supports the financial operations of the SSC contract, Shared Services Agreements, and Infrastructure Agreements. This position is responsible for detailed cost allocation, billing coordination, and financial tracking across departments and affiliated agencies. The analyst prepares models and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with TAMU financial policies and agreements.

    Essential Duties/Tasks:

    SSC Contract Management

    + Coordinate the financial operations of the multi-year SSC contract for custodial, maintenance, and landscaping services.

    + Allocate contract costs to TAMU agencies and auxiliaries based on space occupancy and service level.

    + Track and process changes to space data and service coverage through SLAC and contract modifications.

    + Prepare and issue monthly billings to TAMU agencies and auxiliaries.

    + Monitor payments and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

    + Reconcile related accounts to ensure accuracy of charges and recoveries.

    Infrastructure Agreement Management

    + Coordinate the financial process for TAMU’s Infrastructure Agreements, using SSC allocations and local operations and maintenance (O&M) costs related to UPD, Facilities & Mapping, EHSD, and Emergency Management.

    + Allocate costs across TAMU agencies based on space occupancy.

    + Facilitate collection and review of annual budgets from service providers for inclusion in agreement projections.

    + Coordinate with service providers to update scope of work as needed.

    + Compile, draft, and submit agreements through the Contracts office.

    + Prepare and issue billings to TAMU agencies.

    + Reconcile related accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of charges and payments.

    Shared Services Coordination

    + Coordinate with departments that provide services to TAMUS agencies.

    + Work with service providers to review and update scope of work and determine associated costs.

    + Facilitate the development of Shared Service Agreements and route finalized documents through the Contracts office.

    + Prepare and issue invoices for services provided under the agreements.

    + Provide financial data and reporting to service providers.

    + Support discussions regarding service delivery expectations and associated fees.

    Internal Consulting and Reporting

    + Serve as a financial resource to departments and leadership within the Division of Finance and other university units.

    + Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports, models, and analysis.

    + Provide financial summaries and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.

    + Respond to information requests and assist departments with interpreting financial data related to SSC, Shared Services, and Infrastructure Agreements.

     

    What you need to know

     

    Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

    Required Education and Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Three years of related experience in accounting, finance, and/or analytical services.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with cost allocation modeling or inter-departmental financial agreements.

    + Familiarity with TAMU financial systems such as FAMIS, Canopy, iPayment and Business Objects.

    + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.

    + Knowledge and experience with building or facilities-based allocation methods.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

    + Verbal and written communication skills.

    + Analytical and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work with large data sets.

    Other Requirements and Factors

    + This position is security sensitive.

    + This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.

    + All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.

    + Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

    + Ability to travel to other locations on campus as needed.
