Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator
Department: Maintenance
Summary
The Maintenance Coordinator ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the facilities maintenance department by organizing and arranging all maintenance activities to ensure equipment, facilities, and systems operate efficiently. This includes scheduling repairs, coordinating maintenance staff, communicating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Creating and maintaining maintenance schedules on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
+ Managing work orders – prioritizing, tracking, and coordinating tasks based on facility needs.
+ Ensure the availability of necessary personnel, parts and tools.
+ Maintaining inventory including ordering and stocking.
+ Coordinating with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services, including negotiating contracts and managing service quality.
+ Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
+ Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment maintenance history.
+ Mechanical aptitude – understanding mechanical and electrical systems, equipment functions, and troubleshooting.
+ Effective communication with maintenance technicians, managers, vendors, and other departments.
+ Identifying opportunities for process improvement in maintenance operations and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
+ 3-5 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Technical knowledge – understanding of basic maintenance principles, equipment operation, and safety regulations.
