    Salary: $20.25/Hour Minimum

    Report Times: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM

    Daily Hours: 7.5 (7 Paid)

     

    Work Year: 39 Weeks

     

    Supervisor: Principal

    Minimum Requirements:

    New York State Teaching Assistant Certification

    Desired Qualifications:

    Strong Interpersonal skills;

     

    Strong organization skills;

     

    Must be flexible, responsible and dependable;

     

    Experience working with Pre-K students is desirable;

     

    Daily attendance is expected;

     

    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively;

     

    Ability to work collaboratively with peers and colleagues;

     

    Display a positive attitude and build healthy relationships with students, staff and families.

    Position Summary/Responsibilities:

    Provide Pre-K classroom support to 18 students under the general supervision of a certified teacher;

     

    Collaborating with the classroom teacher is essential;

     

    Provide small group instruction;

     

    Reinforce learning concepts;

     

    Assist students in accessing instructional resources and materials; preparing learning materials;

     

    Assist teacher in related instructional work as required;

     

    Assist students with specific health related activities as appropriate;

     

    Assists with arrivals, transitions and departures;

     

    Support children in developing social skills and maintaining discipline;

     

    Provide individualized attention and support during class time and unstructured times;

     

    Maintains open and effective communication with the lead teacher, school staff and parents;

     

    Assists with maintaining an organized and welcoming classroom;

     

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
