    Description

    Robert Half is partnering with a reputable healthcare provider in San Marcos, CA to find a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller. This role is ideal for someone who understands the full billing cycle, is comfortable working with insurance companies, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate claims processing, timely reimbursements, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and submit claims to private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid

    + Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness prior to billing

    + Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve denials or discrepancies

    + Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services

    + Post payments, adjustments, and write-offs to patient accounts

    + Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audits

    + Communicate with patients regarding balances and payment plans

    + Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure billing accuracy

    + Stay current on payer guidelines, coding updates, and HIPAA regulations

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred

    + Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management

    + Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding

    + Experience with EHR and billing software (e.g., Kareo, Athenahealth, or Epic)

    + Strong understanding of insurance claim workflows and denial management

    + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
