Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Opa Locka, Florida. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead accounting operations, implement process improvements, and mentor staff in a growing organization. You will play a key role in enhancing efficiency and establishing a structured accounting framework.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full cycle of accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

• Develop and implement process improvements to streamline accounting and reporting functions.

• Mentor and provide guidance to the staff accountant, fostering growth and development.

• Collaborate with internal teams to compile and manage financial documents, including scanning and document control.

• Establish a structured framework for construction accounting activities.

• Partner with the head of Administration & Compliance to align financial practices with organizational goals.

• Ensure proper documentation and organization of financial records for restoration projects.

• Conduct regular reviews of accounting processes to identify areas for efficiency improvements.

• Coordinate with external parties for final approval and review of financial reports.

• Maintain onsite presence during the initial period, with potential flexibility for remote work based on performance. Requirements • Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably within the construction industry.

• Strong expertise in document control, scanning, and compiling financial documents.

• Ability to mentor and guide staff who are newer to the field effectively.

• Demonstrated skills in process improvement and creating structured accounting frameworks.

• Familiarity with restoration project accounting is highly advantageous.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in financial reporting and compliance.

• Ability to work onsite initially, with potential for hybrid flexibility after the initial period.
